Is four days enough for Cairo?+
For the essentials, yes: Giza, Saqqara, the Grand Egyptian Museum and Islamic Cairo fill three full days comfortably. It is not enough to add the Nile without spending most of it in airports.
Is the Grand Egyptian Museum worth a whole visit?+
Allow three hours minimum. It holds the complete Tutankhamun collection and rewards a slow visit — most people underestimate the scale of it.
How bad is Cairo traffic?+
It is the main constraint on the day, not distance. Giza to downtown can take 45 minutes or twice that. Pairing sites by which side of the river they are on saves a lot of time.
Is Saqqara worth adding to Giza?+
Yes. It is quieter than Giza, holds the oldest large stone building in the world, and the painted mastaba tombs are often better than anything on the Giza plateau.
