Egypt itineraries: how long have you got?
Egypt changes shape depending on the time available. Start from the length that fits.
Egypt itineraries, grouped by how long you have
Length decides more about Egypt itineraries than budget does. The same money spread over five days and over twelve buys two completely different holidays, and the shorter one spends a lot of itself in airports.
Five days covers Cairo and a fast look at Luxor. Seven gets you a short cruise without rushing the Pyramids. Eight to ten is where most Egypt itineraries settle, because it holds Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel at a pace you can survive.
Beyond twelve days you can add the Red Sea, the White Desert or Siwa without cutting anything. Below five, be honest about what a long-haul flight is buying you.
One more thing worth saying. The day counts below include your flights, because that is how airlines and hotels count them. A seven-day trip usually means five full days on the ground, and a fourteen-day trip means twelve. Operators differ on this, so check it against any quote you compare us with.
