About this trip
What a Nile cruise Luxor to Aswan is like
A Nile cruise Luxor to Aswan over four nights. The classic direction, cheaper northbound, and what each of the days actually involves.
This is a nile cruise route through Luxor · Aswan, run privately unless you pick a group departure. Your guide is a licensed Egyptologist who lives on the route rather than flying in with the group.
Nothing here is fixed. Days can be added, dropped or reordered, and we will tell you honestly which optional sites are worth the extra ticket.

Questions about this trip
What is included on the cruise?+
Full board aboard, entrance fees for the sites in the itinerary, an Egyptologist guide and transfers at each end. Drinks, tips and optional excursions such as Abu Simbel are extra.
How good are the boats?+
They vary far more than the photographs suggest. Nile star ratings are local ratings and are not equivalent to European hotel stars — the refurbishment date matters much more than the rating.
Do the boats moor alongside?+
At the larger stops, yes. At the smaller ones boats often raft several deep, so you may walk through another boat's lounge to reach the bank. It is normal and worth knowing in advance.
Is five days enough?+
For the Luxor to Aswan stretch, yes. It covers Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae. Adding Cairo needs at least three more days.

What this trip looks like

Before you travel
What you can hold us to
No middlemen taking a cut
You are quoted by the local company that runs the trip. No booking fee and no surcharge at the airport.
A licensed Egyptologist, every site
Not a tour escort with a flag. Our partner uses guides who have spent twenty years on the same temples.
We say when something is not worth it
Some tickets are. Some are a queue in the heat. We will tell you which before you pay for them.
Private unless it says group
Your guide, your driver, your pace. Group departures are labelled clearly on the card and the page.
Someone answers the phone
Our partner is in Egypt, in Egyptian hours, and you are put in touch with them directly rather than through a chain.
Change it before you commit
Every itinerary is a starting point. Add days, drop sites, reorder — nothing is fixed until you say so.
Pace
How hard is easy?
Short walks on level ground, a few flights of temple steps, and air-conditioned transport between sites. Suitable for most ages.
