Winter, December to February, is mild by day. Highs are 22C to 24C and nights fall to 14C to 16C. You get 8 to 9 hours of sun. Nights are colder inland and in the mountains.
Spring warms fast. March is 26C, April 30C and May 35C. Nights rise from 17C to 24C.
Summer, June to August, is very hot. Highs are 38C every month and nights stay at 27C to 29C. The afternoon breeze helps on the seafront.

Diving runs all year, from the shore, at sites such as the Lighthouse, Eel Garden and the Blue Hole. At the coolest, most divers want a 5 mm wetsuit and some add a hood. In summer many dive in a shortie.
Late spring and autumn are the most comfortable for diving. The water is warm and the air is pleasant between dives.
Dahab is a windsurf town. The lagoon at the south end is shallow and flat, so it is a good place to learn. The wind is strongest roughly from spring to early autumn. In winter some days have no wind at all.
The afternoon breeze cools the beachfront. It can also stir up exposed dive sites, so many people dive in the morning and sail in the afternoon.
Rain is rare. The averages show about one rain day a month from October to May, and none from June to September. From late March into April, the khamsin can bring a hot, dusty wind for a day or two.
December to March: summer clothes for the day, plus a warm jacket for the evening. Add a hat and gloves if you plan to climb Mount Sinai.
April, May, October and November: light clothes, a windproof layer for the beach, and strong sun cream.
June to September: the lightest clothes you have, a hat and high-factor sun cream. Pack warm layers for Mount Sinai in any month. The summit is cold at sunrise even in summer.
For diving, windsurfing and Mount Sinai on one trip, go from March to May or in October and November.
For the warmest water, go in August or September, at about 28C. Expect 36C to 38C on land.
For a Mount Sinai sunrise, spring and autumn are the easiest. The night walk is cool and the next day is not too hot.
For quiet and lower prices, May to September is the low season across Egypt. Dahab is busiest around Christmas, New Year and the European school holidays.
