Summer clothes are enough for most days. Nights at about 24C are warm.
A hat, sunglasses, rash vest and sunscreen are still essential. Reef shoes help on the shore.
Bring a warm layer for Mount Sinai and for a breezy boat ride home.
October is a good month for Mount Sinai. The climb is pleasant, and the summit is cold before dawn. Check the monastery's days, as it is normally shut on Fridays and Sundays.
Cairo is about 29C in October and about an hour away by air. Luxor is about 34C, a good temperature for temples. A Nile cruise and Red Sea trip works well this month, as its own route.
Petra by coach and ferry is more comfortable now than in summer. It is still a 1:00am start and a 1:00am finish.
